Q2 Driver of the Quarter Recipients

Lew Thompson & Son Trucking, Inc. has made selections for the 2nd Quarter of 2020 Driver of the Quarter. The qualifications for this award are based on time with the company, performance, safety review, and fuel mileage. Lew Thompson’s has multiple deserving Professional Drivers, but we are only able to recognize 1 per division.

Local driver Terry Carpenter has been with the company since October of 2016. His manager chose him because “he always goes above and beyond. He never complains and just does his job.” His service to the company and desire to get the job done is greatly appreciated!

Local feed driver Noah Pennington joined our team in July of 2019 as a result of a contract change. He has many years of feed delivery experience and is a valuable part of the team. His manager noted that “Noah is very reliable and I can count on him to do his part and extra as needed. He is experienced and knows what steps to take should a situation arise. Noah is willing to share his knowledge but is also willing to take direction.” We are fortunate to have your knowledge and desire to help out, Noah!

Over the Road driver Thomas Blackwell has been with the company almost 2 years. Thomas is a joy to work with and always helps-out as needed and makes sure he gets the job done! Thomas has an excellent Lytx score and is a safe and efficient driver. We appreciate Thomas’ flexibility and desire to always do his best. He is a valuable asset to our OTR division!

Bob Hrabec has been a local driver with the company since 2013. Bob always goes out of his way to help-out our maintenance department, safety and operations. He does extra work as needed and is extremely dependable and dedicated to his job. Thank you for your dedication, Bob! It doesn’t go unnoticed.

Johnny Armer has been a driver with the company for a couple of years. He has been awarded the Driver of the Quarter honors a couple other quarters previously. His manager noted that “Johnny has always been an employee that you can count on since coming to work for us. He is always willing to work, even if he is on vacation camping with his family, he will leave early to come help us out. Johnny never complains about his job or the people he works with. He will help train new drivers and show them the ropes on live haul. We really appreciate everything he does and hope he continues to work for us for years to come.” Thank you for your hard work, Johnny!

Our company added a dedicated feed delivery division based out of Batesville, AR back in April of 2020. We gained several experienced drivers through this addition. The driver selected for Driver of the Quarter for that division is Joshua Hahn. Joshua’s manager noted “Joshua embodies a spirit of loyalty, skill and competitiveness toward his job. He is a safe, dependable and positive employee. He works well as a team member with everyone.” Joshua has a “0” score in our safety system, which is difficult to obtain considering the difficult terrain that he operates on a daily basis. Thank you for your hard work, Josh, we are fortunate to have you on the LT team!

Driver of the Quarter winners will be awarded a gift card and will be eligible for Driver of the Year for 2020. We recognize how fortunate we are to have wonderful employees such as these. We want to stress that there are several others that work hard every day, and they don’t go unnoticed either. Tell these Professional Drivers “Congratulations!” next time you see them!
